~4 Pillars

After years of failing in my own life and walk with God, I began researching what areas have the most impact (positive or negative) on a Christian man’s relationship with God,  success at home, work, church… the following 4 areas continuously rise to the surface as the most prominent; dealt with quite aggressively in the Bible by Paul, Peter, Jesus and all throughout the Old Testament.

These areas are the major focus of the enemy in the lives of Christians -especially men. Failure in these areas render us motionless, ineffectual, gripped by fear, guilt, and shame, often, destroying our lives privately or openly destroying our homes. Thus, Satan has won. Conversely, success in these areas is DANGEROUS to the gates of Hell and Satan’s bent to steal, kill and destroy.

Let’s study these areas and, with the power of the Holy Spirit released in us, begin to see victory over the enemy’s grip and success in our homes and lives!

These are the primary points of study and will be greatly expanding as we study together. I’m excited to add your thoughts and insights to these pages!

Pillar I:
Our Walk with God – A Deep and Meaningful Relationship with our Creator

Many times throughout our Christian life we have heard and will continue to hear the importance of a deep relationship with Jesus -absolutely true. And we will dive deep into our side-by-side walk with Jesus.

However, Hebrews 12 says that “…for the joy set before Him, Christ endured the cross, scorning it’s shame…”. What “joy” was Paul talking about? The very fact that in a moment Christ would hang His head and die; and upon His resurrection ALL MANKIND would now have total access to God the Father -forever!

God our Father is longing for a personal side-by-side walk with us just how he walked with Adam in the garden, was a close friend to many prophets, and how he walked with Jesus while He was on earth.

Pillar II:
Loving, Honoring and Serving our Wives

In Ephesians 5:25-31 Paul let’s us in on an amazing secret to success as men; he uses comparison between Christ’s perfect love for the church and how we should act toward our earthly wives.

This can be an overwhelming, deep and wide subject that Paul brings into perspective so that when we grasp and begin to live out a life as a husband that God desires, we can experience success in so many other areas of our lives. See Job 31 as an example…

Pillar III:
Sexual Purity – Defeating the Enemy’s Grip on Christian Men

Job 31 ties lusting after another woman to serious economic impact in our lives. By dishonoring God, our wives and ourselves through lust, Job says our crops can be uprooted, our wives can leave us and worst of all a rift forms between us and our Father. Success in this area is paramount to walking a victorious life, which is a huge threat to the enemy. Why is it a surprise that Satan spends so much effort in the area of sexual temptation?

This attack starts long before boys are even old enough to understand sexuality, their own bodies or “how babies are made”.  This is a personal area of attack on Satan’s fortress of mine; we will learn together how to bring victory to ourselves, our sons and grandsons -Satan’s biggest focus is to catch them when they’re young and saddle them with a seemingly impossible weight to overcome. Once we discover the keys to forgiveness and the power of the Holy Spirit to throw off Satan’s “dirty little sin”, he will NO LONGER defeat us in this area and render Christian men “stuck” in the mire of shame and guilt, “unusable” by God.

Pillar IV:
Giving / Tithing – Successful Obedience in Giving Back to God

The issue of tithing is a sensitive subject, often a church-splitting subject. Before you run out of this group screaming, hang in there for a while and discover the unbelievable depths of blessing and power that come from a life committed to obediently giving back to God. This subject was clearly taught a long time before the “Law” was given. It’s everywhere, from cover to cover, and obviously an important subject to God -and should be to us as well. But let’s not view it through the eyes of skepticism but through the eyes of hungry men, for more of what God’s Word teaches and how we can be ever continuing to mature and grow in stature as men of God.

Even if there are areas you may not agree with, let’s dive in together and see what the Word teaches -no opinions or spin… just the Bible!
